Columbia river fishing for Sturgeon,
Salmon, Shad and steelhead in Oregon
and Washington.
The Columbia River is home to a huge population of White Sturgeon. The section below Bonneville Dam is a major spawning area for these giant fish. In the summer months we offer fishing trips for the giant sturgeon that come in from the Ocean to spawn in the Lower Columbia River. The Giant Sturgeon or Oversized sturgeon as we call them can reach lengths in excess of 12 feet and weigh over 1000 pounds. The big sturgeon are a match for any angler putting on quite a show with many jumps and line peeling runs.
The Columbia is also home to
millions of smaller sturgeon and
keeper sturgeon and is one of the
only places you can still catch and
keep a sturgeon for the table.
Keeper sturgeon fishing is a blast
and always provides lots of action.
Keeper fish are of a certain length
that
Columbia River salmon fishing is
second to none. The river has runs
of King Salmon in the Spring, Summer
and Fall months. The spring Chinook
or Springer's as we call them are
the best eating salmon of all. The
Fall Chinook and Spring Chinook runs
are the most popular and productive
salmon runs as huge numbers of wild
salmon make there way up the river
to the spawning grounds. Coho Salmon
or silver salmon also run in the
fall The Columbia offers great river steelhead fishing, shad fishing and walleye fishing as well.
